What is SkillBridge?

SkillBridge is training for a civilian job that you receive while still employed by the Department of Defense; A DOD approved program that allows Service Members to complete professional training and private-sector internships immediately prior to their transition from Active Duty.

Key Attributes:

  • Service Members receive approval from their Command for "Temporary Duty" at a private-sector employer, while continuing to be paid by the military.

  • In this "temp-to-hire" model, after the Service Member's training and internship is complete, your organization can make an offer to any candidate.

  • Your organization recevies military talent "on loan" from the DOD, in exchange for providing valuable business-world experience and training.
